Absolutely.
Just because your outsource payroll does not mean you outsource control or responsibility. Once processed, you are asked to check that you or your authorised representative are happy.
We will only accept changes to Payroll with verification from you or your authorised representative. Your dedicated account manager will work with you, in partnership, to ensure the most efficient outcomes with transparency throughout the process.
As an employer you will need to register with HMRC. Registration involves answering a number of questions about your business structure, so you will need to have certain information.
HMRC will issue you an employer’s starter pack through the post and supply you with your PAYE reference numbers and an Accounts Office Number.

Directors who are involved in the day-to-day operations of a limited company are seen as employees of that company as well as employers. You will need to register as an employer with HMRC and setup a PAYE system.
Contact us to discuss how you want to operate your payroll, and how much of payroll you want us to deal with. We will request details of your current arrangements and obtain the data.
We will agree a start date – usually within a month.
A dedicated manager of your payroll will be appointed as your contact, and a service level agreement with terms and conditions setting out what you can expect from us are provided.
We have robust measures in place to protect data, and ensure that your payroll is secure.
At all times, Highland Payroll Services complies with Data Protection Act 1984 and the data protection principles set out in the Act, as well as GDPR. All our staff and those with access to data must sign and adhere to our Non Disclosure Agreement. Our qualified and professional staff understand and adhere to all associated confidentiality issues and are issued with System Passwords and Controls to govern the unsolicited use of company information
All our files are backed up daily using a secure off site cloud system, with a further weekly manual back up on site. We have contingency arrangements for a loss of internet connection.
We use a HMRC recognised and compliant software package for payroll.
By taking these steps we have done everything possible to ensure your payroll is processed accurately and on time.
